Matt Lovely

Coach Lovely is originally from Holland Patent, New York—a small farm community just north of Syracuse. He grew up as a 3-sport athlete playing football, basketball, and baseball. He lettered in both football and baseball and gained recognition as a second team all state all star in football and as an honorable mention all star in baseball. Shortly after graduation in January, 1993, he joined the United States Marine Corps, where he completed a 22-year career, retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer 3 in July of 2015.

Coach Lovely started his coaching career during his senior year of high school, where he was an assistant coach for U15 boys baseball; this carried over into his Marine Corps career where he coached numerous men’s and co-ed softball, basketball and golf teams. He then served as the football coach for 10th Marines Regiment, where he coached a full contact intramural team, which was runner up in the East Coast Championship.  He also has numerous years coaching his children’s soccer and softball teams from the recreation level to the challenge level.  Coach Lovely is currently an assistant JV and Varsity softball coach for RHS. He is expected to be the Linebacker/Defensive backs and Kickers Coach this season.
